These are a few of the lessons that are expanded upon in Jimmy Reid’s 10 HOUR INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO SERIES
In the address position, you must, while visualising the shot, stroke the cue in the air to get a positive feel in your grip for the shot required. You should reach all backstroke grip positions twice, during backstroke and again during follow through…Grip is beginning to open… |
Warm up before shooting by stroking the cue fast and loose, this gives you a better, more positive feel for the shot. It naturally trains the muscles of your grip and wrist to respond in the correct manner…
You should reach all backstroke grip positions twice, during backstroke and again during follow through…Grip is beginning to open… |
Different shots require different length of backstrokes, I’d say this is about a 3/4 backstroke… |
During the back stroke, the grip hand opens and the wrist breaks (a little),don’t get too wristy.Fully opened grip at full backstroke extension… |
Grip starts to close as tip comes toward cueball… |
Grip position has repeated itself during followthrough… |
After you shoot, stay down and watch the cueball roll. This will expedite learning the deflection of cueball off objectball(s) and rails. For my money, it is the best way to learn the speed of the table… |
Grip fully closed on completed followthrough… |
