Aiming through the diamonds forces you to double the distance on banks, here I’m aiming through the ob from 26 on my rail – through 13 on the far rail, you can’t figure it wrong. The distance from the pocket you’re banking into should always double the distance on the rail being banked off of… |

From 2.6 diamonds above the pocket, looking through 1.3 diamonds above the other corner pocket, I know if I hit the ob there with 1tip rc english and medium speed, the ob will or should bank into the crosscorner pocket… |
From 4.0 ( 40 ) through 2.0 ( 20 ).
Remember, when kicking use inside english – toward the direction of the kick. Banking an ob uses the exact same measurements only with one more tip of the opposite english. English changes with every additional ob being banked as in combination banks… |

Where the 4th diamond would be if not for the pocket… |
42 through 21… |
38 below the side through 19 below the other side pocket… |
28 below through 14 below… |
This would be from 27 below through 13 1/2 below.
27 below side pocket through 13 1/2 below the other side pocket… |
32 from the corner pocket through 16 from the far corner pocket.. |
39 from the corner through 19 1/2 on the near rail… |
Right index finger is on the imaginary 1st, or 4th end rail diamond.
In this case it is the 4th diamond ( 40 ).
From here I would bank or kick to the opposite corner pocket by aiming at and through the middle diamond ( 20 ) on the other end rail… |
When banking or kicking past the middle ( 20 ) diamond on the short end rail for every 1/4 diamond above 20 you must come down and aim through 1 diamond on the long side rail. Here I’m shooting through 30 on the end rail, which is 4 x 1/4 diamonds above 20 so my aim must be from 4 on the long rail… |
Doubling the distance from center of pocket desired to the center of the opposite corner pocket.Using my right thumb to mark the distance… |
Bring the tip over to the center of the opposite corner, now aim every ball on the table at my right thumb, they will all bank into the other corner pocket… |
Same theory applies when kicking at an ob, measure from the center of an imaginary cb against the ob, here again I’ve marked where the cue meets the rail with my right thumb… |
Go straight back, bringing the tip to the rail, you can now hit this ob with any ball aimed at my right thumb.
All kicks should be hit with some degree of running english, but don’t stray to far from center… |
Doubling again… |
The more straight on towards center the cb hits the rail, the more toward center the running english. I would hit this shot firm with
1/2 tip of left center english. |
When hitting just a little bit of the rail with the cb use the opposite amount of running english, here I would hit the cb 2 tips toward 10:30 ( since the cb is hitting the r 2 tips toward 1:30. This will assist the cb in maintaining an accurate course. Be sure to gear the speed down when the cb is close to the rebounding rail… |

Banking from 23 through 11 1/2…
These Banks and Kicks have all been natural, we’ll get into some secrets later on unnatural Banks and Kicks later, I’ll show you how to make the ob bigger…Jimmy |
